Well, the banking chaos continues to impact the markets. And it’s Fed Week – Wednesday at 11 am local time we will get their next rate hike announcement. More importantly, we will receive Powell’s comments about the economy moving forward.

Economic news is light this week, but the market is under pressure and we are seeing rates see-saw back and forth, so buckle up we will see some up’s and down’s this week.

Mortgage rates have been hammered by the broader market forces, namely traders shorting positions – which means the belief is rates will go higher. Despite a holiday week next week there are significant reports that will be released. The recommendation is to lock when you can because riding out the storm to see lower rates could be disastrous.

Some key economic data is released this week, and rates have been see-sawing back and forth for the last several days. We will see how the week’s data shakes out, and what impact that will have on markets, and more importantly interest rates…..have a great week!
